I am a tutor currently living in North Chicago, Illinois. I have tutoring experience in math and science subjects such as geometry, algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, elementary and middle school math, physiology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy. My teaching experience includes being an education volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps. My work assignment, which lasted for a period of 27 months, was to teach physics, mathematics, and chemistry to secondary school students in a rural area of Malawi. My teaching duties also included working with these students to improve their study and critical thinking skills. While in Malawi, I thoroughly liked teaching mathematics because my students and I could communicate well through this subject. I also enjoyed the fact that they were eager to learn and often wanted additional problems to work on. My time in Malawi also showed me the great need for good education. I want to be a tutor so I can continue helping students. I attended the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and molecular biology. I plan to attend the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where I will be enrolled in a physician assistant program at the graduate level. Additionally, I also have national certification as an EMT. In my leisure time, I like to listen to classical music, play soccer, spend time in the outdoors, and cycle.
